Bipper Wins Red Herring Global Award 2012
Great news from Los Angeles, California – our client Bipper was recognized as 2012 Top 100 Global Winner by Red Herring, a global media company that actively promotes technology innovation and identifies and unites the world’s best high technology innovators, venture investors and business decision makers. Red Herring Global Awards are widely recognized as one of the industry’s most prestigious recognitions, with up to 1,400 candidates from all over the world competing each year.
Founded by Silje Vallestad in 2007, Bipper became the leader on the Norwegian mobile scene with its mobile apps such as BipperKids (2010) and Bsafe, the safety alarm for moms, teens, and anyone else who wants extra safety. Since its launch in summer 2011 the app has become one of the most downloaded iPhone apps in Norway, along with Angry Birds and Facebook apps.
“We have used Norway as a test market,” says Silje Vallestad. “We wanted to get feedback and finalize the technology here to make everything ready to go international. In 2013 we will move aggressively into the U.S. and focus on the U.S. market.”
Commenting on the last week’s Red Herring Award, Silje Vallestad said: “Most other winner companies are large and make over 100 million dollars in annual sales. Bipper won because we have great potential for growth. In addition to winning the price, it’s a fantastic opportunity to meet new investors and make important contacts in the industry.”
Ciklum congratulates Bipper on their global success and wishes the company successful expansion to the North American market. On our side we’ll be doing our best to make Bipper technology even better!
