Ciklum Consulting’s Startup Acceleration and Subsequent Project Manager Augmentation for Energy Intelligence

When Energy Intelligence decided to outsource software development to Ciklum’s near-shore location in the Ukraine we saw this as a strategic and not a tactical decision. We had to work within very tight timelines and wanted to ensure that engagement would start smoothly and chose to take start-up service consultancy offered by Ciklum’s consultancy unit in the Ukraine.

We opted for the a ‘Startup Acceleration Program’ where an experienced technical consultant located in the near-shore location led the integration the onshore and nearshore teams and associated processes using Ciklum’s years of experience in these areas.

The key areas for us were building the near-shore team and integrating them seamlessly with our own in-house developers. The Ciklum consultant worked alongside us using expert knowledge to ensure that our communication and processes for Agile software development were aligned and complimentary.

Deploying Full-cycle Software Development Tools for Energy Intelligence

When Energy Intelligence chose to distribute our software development to Ciklum’s nearshore location in the Ukraine we understood that managing our development processes between on shore and near-shore was key to success. For this reason we utilise Ciklum’s fully integrated, full-cycle software development tool kit.

We were unhappy with our existing toolset and we took this opportunity to switch to the ‘Ciklum Team Infrastructure ‘(CTI) which enabled us to move to more rigorous agile processes to support our development effort. The great advantage of the Ciklum CTI package is that is a combination of existing industry standard tools pre-configured by Ciklum using their knowledge of what works best for their customers. This saved us time to deploy and allowed us to quickly migrate from our existing toolset.

Today at Energy Intelligence the Ciklum CTI package is a core to our software development lifecycle providing us with the ability to track source code changes, plan our product backlogs, monitor team performance and support our processes for Agile development and project management.
