EXPLORING SYMFONY2 BY CODE
In this talk we will explore Symfony2 application
with no slides, just looking at code in an editor, calling commands on the CLI and looking at output in a browser. We will explore how Symfony2 handles a request from start to finish. Along the way we will look at why Symfony2 is build the way it is and what the benefits and limitations are of the approaches taken. We will explore best practices and some example open source solutions to extend Symfony2. At the end of the talk attendees should have a solid understand of the strengths and weaknesses of Symfony2 and its core design philosophy. Please feel free to check the files here
Lukas Kahwe Smith
Doing web applications with PHP since before the turn of the century. He has been part of the core group behind PEAR maintaing some of the most popular packages. Later he moved on to become the co-release-manager of PHP 5.3. These days he is a core developer of Symfony2, PHPCR/Jackalope and a contributor to Doctrine and various other open source projects. When not coding he is usually busy playing Ultimate Frisbee.
