Ciklum Founder & CEO
As founder and chief executive officer, Torben Majgaard has built Ciklum into one of the largest IT companies in Ukraine and Eastern Europe and is still the majority shareholder. He brings 20 years of experience working in Eastern Europe and 30 years of IT expertise.
Under Torben’s leadership, Ciklum has been recognized in The 2016 Global Outsourcing 100 list of the world’s best outsourcing services providers, has been listed among 20 Most Promising DevOps Solution Providers in 2015 in the United States, and was named by Gartner Inc. as a ‘Cool Vendor’ in its ‘Cool Vendors in Application Services, 2013’ report.
Apart from Ciklum, Mr. Majgaard is also the founder and majority shareholder of Adquota, a mobile advertising company currently employing 70+ people, and an angel investor in 10+ companies. Previously, 1994 – 2002 Mr. Majgaard also founded and sold a number of companies in the IT sphere mainly in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
Mr. Majgaard is the founder of and a Supervisory Board Member of the “Brain Basket Foundation”, a joint initiative with the Ukrainian government to help the development of the IT sector in Ukraine.
Serial Entrepreneur, Venture Capital Investor
Andrey Kolodyuk is a serial entrepreneur and venture capital investor. Mr. Kolodyuk started his entrepreneurial career in New York in 1992, and eventually has founded and built over 10 companies in IT, telecom, internet and media with USD 1 billion total revenue.
In August 2014, Andrey has initiated the Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA) and in November 2014, he was elected as its Chairman.
Andrey Kolodyuk was elected as the Young Global Leader (from Ukraine) of the World Economic Forum in 2008. He is also the founder and managing partner of the AVentures Capital fund, focused on the global market early-stage IT and web-related projects with the Ukraine- and CEE-based technology teams.
Mr. Kolodyuk graduated Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, studied law at Kyiv National University and holds PhD in “Political Culture and Ideology”.
Principal, Soros Fund Management
Originally from Croatia, Helis moved to the United States in 1999 when she was awarded a scholarship from ASSIST Inc. (sponsored by the Open Society Foundations) to attend a private boarding school. She later went on to study at Harvard University where she received her B.A. in Economics and a Citation in German language in 2005.
Helis began her career as an investment banking analyst at J.P. Morgan in New York and continued at the Carlyle Group as an Associate. In 2009, she joined the Charterhouse Group where she focused on middle market private equity investments in North America. Helis joined Soros Fund Management in April 2013 and since has focused on investments across the telecommunications, business services and consumer sectors in the USA, Germany and Turkey.
Helis serves on the Board of ASSIST Inc. and resides in New York with her husband.
Alex Fridlyand, PhD
Managing Director, Soros Fund Management
Dr. Fridlyand studied mathematics and graduated summa cum laude from the Moscow Forest Technical Institute, School of Applied Mathematics. In 1991, he has moved to the United States to study turbulence and chaos theory at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering and received his Ph.D. there in 1995. That same year Dr. Fridlyand founded a company that quickly merged with another startup Data Center company in California, with which he stayed through multiple mergers and acquisitions until 2003, for a couple of years after it became a part of the 150-year-old Cable & Wireless plc based in the UK.
Dr. Fridlyand joined Soros Fund Management in May, 2005. Since then he led a dozen of direct investments and currently represents Soros on the Board of Directors of various oil & gas explorations, insurance, catastrophic reinsurance and telecommunication companies in the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Colombia and Turkey.
Dr. Fridlyand is a Trustee of the Speyer Legacy School, a private school for intellectually gifted children in New York City. He resides in New York with his wife and two children.
LEADERSHIP TEAM & INVITED MEMBERS
Following a successful career in chemical research, during which he published several scientific papers and was granted a number of patent applications, Sam moved into the IT industry in early 1990. He has since then held international board level positions in both client and supplier organizations. His appointment as CIO for East Midlands Electricity (now E.ON Energy) was his prelude to working in the IT services sector. Sam has had executive leadership roles for Perot Systems, SAIC, Oracle, EDS, Unisys and Deutsche Telekom Group, working across Europe, Africa, the Americas and Australasia prior to joining Ciklum.
His broad management experience includes a track record of growing and restructuring diverse businesses within consulting services, IT applications, infrastructure services, and process outsourcing, with an emphasis on ensuring sustainable performance and structured staff development programs.
Sam holds an honors degree in chemistry, MS, and a PhD in polymer science.
After reading Economics and Economic History at Bristol University, James began his career at Arthur Andersen, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1995. From there he spent 10 years at EMI Music, both in the UK and Continental Europe Music Divisions, predominantly in planning and analysis, but also leading business process design for the global SAP roll out.
Most recently, James worked for the Travelocity Group (then part of the Sabre Corporation) in numerous roles including Global CFO, but also as COO for Europe and Asia, and CFO for lastminute.com, managing all aspects of financial control, planning, and compliance. He also drove material change management initiatives and corporate development activities in the US, Europe and Asia and latterly led the divestment of a number of the Travelocity assets, including the sale of lastminute.com to Bravofly and Holiday Autos to Car Trawler. James brings a wealth of operational finance experience across multiple territories in scaled B2C and B2B businesses.
He lives with his wife and 4 children in Tunbridge Wells, and enjoys running and cycling.
Chief Delivery Officer
Anna is responsible for the service development and current implementation of the entire delivery cycle to all ODC clients and their extended teams. Her responsibilities range from recruitment through employee engagement / learning and development, to focus upon process and service excellence, aimed to enhance the client’s team’ productivity, as well as meeting and exceeding clients’ requirements.
Anna has a true Ciklum DNA, she and her team are committed to ensuring that Ciklum stays in premier position as a consistent delivery and technology partner who has the passion to develop people and provide diverse software solutions.
Anna was educated in both Ukraine and UK, she has 11 years of professional delivery experience; 9 of which are with Ciklum. Prior joining Ciklum, she worked at Materialise, Global an innovative IT product company. During her first years with Ciklum Anna put in place production rated processes in the recruitment area, enabling our clients to scale their operations across Ciklum’s locations.
Christian Aaen brings more than 15 years of solid experience in business analytics, consulting and program management to Ciklum. As CTO, Christian is responsible for the development and go-to-market strategy of value-added technology, agile governance and consulting services, as well as management and quality assurance of the company’s services delivery.
Before joining Ciklum, he worked as Client Service Director at Agillic, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of SaaS marketing automation solutions in EMEA. Prior to that, Aaen was responsible for establishing Agillic’s offshore development center in Ukraine. His strong consulting skills were acquired by working in various client-facing roles at Wunderman Denmark and through the analytical skills he developed while working as investment analyst at Siemens Venture Capital in Germany.
During his career, Aaen has worked with global brands within the media, technology, finance and telecom sectors. Aaen holds a degree in global business engineering from Copenhagen University College of Engineering, advanced course diplomas in e-business and innovation from the IT University of Copenhagen, and is a certified scaled agile framework program consultant (SPC).
VP HR & Organisational Development
Marina has 15 years of experience in HR. Since joining Ciklum in 2005, she has helped to grow the number of employees from 90 to over 2500 and built a strong team of HR professionals. Marina has great dedication and through her efforts Ciklum has earned a reputation of the best place to work and grow, with distinctive identity and culture.
Today Marina focuses on Ciklum’s OD, driving the required organizational change, to ensure alignment and engagement across Ciklum at all levels. She is also responsible for our corporate social responsibility activities, loyalty and education programs.
Before joining Ciklum, Marina worked in EMC/Documentum and Terralink, companies, she has diplomas in Mathematics and Psychology from Voronezh State University in Russia, as well as a Master’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics from UMASS, Amherst, USA.
Legal Counsel in Ciklum Group
Anna is a Ukrainian lawyer educated in both Ukraine and the United States, who has practiced law for 9 years with global law firms in Ukraine, serving mostly multinational corporations. Ms. Ryzhova received an LLM from the University of Pittsburgh, and gained valuable experience practicing law with a firm in Washington, DC.
She returned to Kyiv in 2004, joining the Ukraine offices of US firm Chadbourne & Parke. In 2007 Anna joined the international law firm CMS Cameron McKenna in the corporate department. Over the course of the past 9 years, Anna has developed expertise in the negotiation of complex corporate and commercial contracts, M&A (including the IT and telecom sectors), regulatory issues (including merger control execution), and securities and capital markets.
Ms. Ryzhova has also acted for clients in the areas of private equity, power generation, banking, insurance and hotel management and franchising.
As Ciklum’s Head of Finance, Andriy brought his 12 years of experience in finance management consulting and international audit. He has extensive experience in managing and leading complex projects in Technology, Telecommunication, Agriculture, Chemistry, and Retail sectors in Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Georgia.
Before joining Ciklum, Mr.Oksenyuk was the Consulting Director at Deloitte Ukraine, leading the Consulting CFO services team. There he was responsible for the finance strategy development, management reporting and costing methodology development. Prior to the director’s role, Andriy was the leader of Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) Audit team for almost three years. He has started his career in 2003 as Deloitte’s Audit Manager, where he was gaining auditing experience by reviewing financial statements in accordance with Ukrainian and International Accounting Standards, performing analytical review of audit documents, and reviewing client accounting and operating procedures.
Andriy Oksenyuk holds BA Degree in Economics from National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, and is the Chartered Certified Accountant with Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
In the role of Ciklum’s Head of Compliance and Automation, Olga is working on business process improvement and internal controls implementation. At Ciklum she is responsible for business and financial compliance, implementation of KPIs and Business Intelligence Tools as well as business process improvement and automation.
Olga Kuraksa brings over 14 years of management consulting and internal audit to Ciklum. For almost 10 years she has been working for Deloitte Ukraine. She has a wide background in internal controls implementation, SOX 404 compliance, forensic investigation and corporate governance consulting. Led a variety of projects, such as business process improvements, risk management implementation and internal controls support for audit and tax review for a number of big multinational companies.
Prior to this she spent three years at the Kerria Holding as an Internal Auditor, revising affiliates’ activities in the sphere of accounting, identification, and consulting services. There she has gained a valuable experience of planning audit checks, preparing auditing conclusions, and analysing financial performance of the company.
Olga holds Master’s Degree in Economics from the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics.
