Neopenda is a Chicago-based social enterprise in the healthtech sector. As a tech startup, Neopenda engineers innovative healthcare solutions that support newborns in low-resource settings around the world.
Nearly 3 million babies die in the first month of life every year in the developing world. 80% of these deaths are preventable with Vital Signs Monitors. Neopenda was looking for a technology partner to turn their idea of saving newborn lives into a wearable device.
Ciklum’s R&D Engineering team in Ukraine developed a simple, and low-power wearable device that tracks, and displays 4 vital signs for newborns in distress. The Vital Signs Monitor sends real-time data to the tablet and alarms nurses in case of any changes. This data is stored in cloud and may be used by the doctor in any part of the world to track child’s health.
