01

The Client

A global leader in cloud security, content delivery, and cloud computing, helping some of the world’s largest enterprises protect and deliver digital experiences at scale. From online shopping and gaming to banking, media, and business-critical applications, its technology operates behind the scenes to keep life online fast, reliable, and secure.

For over 25 years, the organisation has helped businesses solve some of the internet’s toughest challenges. Its security portfolio is built around a Zero Trust approach, designed for a world where users, applications, and data no longer sit safely behind a traditional perimeter.

The Challenge

As hybrid and mobile-first work became the norm, the technology provider needed to secure how employees accessed internal applications and internet resources from mobile devices.

Users were connecting through public Wi-Fi, cellular networks, and other unmanaged environments, making consistent access control and policy enforcement harder across devices and locations.

The existing third-party mobile client no longer gave security teams the level of control and manageability needed. The business required a mobile security solution that could protect traffic, support secure application access, work across multiple platforms, and be deployed at scale through its existing MDM infrastructure.

The Solution

Ciklum implemented Zero Trust Client for Mobile, a unified mobile security client that combines secure application access with internet threat protection.

The solution was integrated with the organisation’s Enterprise Application Access (EAA) and Secure Internet Access (SIA), giving mobile users secure access to enterprise applications while protecting web traffic across networks. It was deployed through their existing MDM setup across Android, iOS, iPadOS, and ChromeOS.

Five Moves That Closed the Gap

Ciklum helped the organisation move away from its existing third-party mobile security solution and onto a single Zero Trust Client for Mobile. One integrated layer for secure application access, internet threat protection, and policy enforcement.

The mobile security client was deployed across Android, iOS, iPadOS, and ChromeOS, helping the organisation apply a more consistent security model across its mobile device environment. This reduced variation between device types and gave teams a clearer way to manage mobile access and protection.

Rolled out through the company’s existing MDM infrastructure, the solution allowed IT teams to distribute, configure, update, and manage the client centrally. Manual installation across the mobile device environment was no longer required.

Mobile traffic is routed and protected through a secure tunnel layer. Each connection is evaluated in real time using a virtual tunnel interface, then allowed, blocked, inspected, or bypassed based on policy. The organisation gained consistent protection for DNS, HTTP, and HTTPS traffic across corporate and public networks.

Two activation modes supported different security needs: IDP hostname activation for full access and protection, and SIA activation code for threat protection only. The organisation gained flexibility to meet different licensing and security requirements without changing the deployment model.
