Exceed IT Services, part of Exceeders community, focuses on providing IT services and IT consultancy to organisations in various sectors. Exceed IT’s client, the Knowledge Group (TKG), is the leading provider of organisational and workforce development solutions in the Middle East and North Africa for clients in the public and private sector.
The Exceed IT Services contacted Ciklum to deliver the complete project scope within the defined timelines and project
plan agreed with end customer, TKG. One of the biggest challenges was managing the scope of the project as the requirements were defined at high-level and the budget and execution plan was already finalised. The integration requirements with other organisational systems and mobile applications required close coordination and dependency planning between multiple stakeholders.
The Global Delivery Model allocates Ciklum engineers near the client to coordinate software development and communication between the client and a larger, lower-cost engineering team in Pakistan. In this case, Ciklum was able to provide flexible support using two development teams.
One team was established to handle web portal requirements and the second team for mobile development. Both teams coordinated to finalise the integration and associated details to ensure parallel execution of projects without dependencies.
To reduce development and maintenance costs of the project, Xamarin Forms cross-platform framework was selected to implement the mobile applications for Android and iOS. This required implementation of various custom controls and components to ensure a consistent experience on both mobile platforms.
The web portal and mobile applications were successfully delivered and rolled out on production with all integrations. The new web portal and mobile applications were the key element of customer’s organisational digital strategy.
The developed platform allowed users to share knowledge and collaborate using chat, discussion forums, blogs and other tools. The designed widgets, dashboards, interactive reports and other productivity features for different holders allowed to increase user engagement. The roll out of portal and mobile applications increased access to information for stakeholders, automated service requests and increased user engagement collaboration.
